Students who have been awarded a NMSGC scholarship or fellowship are required to complete 10 hours of community service or outreach. The volunteer activities do not have to be STEM-related, however, this is strongly encouraged as the intent of scholar service is to support science and engineering outreach in your community. For example, participating as a judge at a science fair, volunteering at STEM outreach activities in your academic institution, public schools or museums.
